Listen...to Him

Faith comes from hearing
and hearing by the word of Christ.
-Rom.10:17
-------------------------
If only for the least you listen
then only the least there is
reminding you of Whose you are
and how on earth to live.
If AS the very least you listen
to words of life from Him
your wish will fix upon the Star
and your faith will live to give.
--------------------------
"I, Jesus,...the bright Morning Star."
-Rev.22:16

Come, Spring Rain

Fill my heart
with Your joy
for my God,
for, my God,
it is joyless
without You—

Without You
it is so.
It is so completely
joyless
without You—

So fill my heart,
oh my God,
with Your joy
for my God,
for, my God,
my heart is joyless
without You—

Without You
it is so.
Life is so completely
joyless
without You—

No drop of joy left.
Joyless
without You.

Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. -Hosea 6:3

Fearfully and wonderfully saved
on February 14, 1976,
my heart knows Who my Joy is!

A Case for His Life

In some cases
you'll find lipstick like juice,
mascara and liner for the eyes.
In most cases
that is all it will take
to help you shine
while you dine.
In other cases
there is only the wine.

In some cases
you'll find a cell phone with tunes
and a tracker to keep you in line.
In most cases
your thumbs do the saying,
they get you flying,
always in time.
In other cases
there is only a dime.

In some cases
you'll find a Bible—your sleuth,
and a notebook to store all your mind.
In most cases
what more could you phrase?—
your friends are just fine,
your family is kind.
In other cases
there is only His Life.

Yes,
in the best case
there is only
His Life
in the least
case.

Just Keepin' In Touch

Photo-art credit goes to a friend who sees nature
as God's second book...all to His credit.

Dear Lord...

I talked to You a while ago
and I'm already back—
I really like to keep in touch

before I hit the sack.
I kinda want to thank You for
Your help throughout the day
I'm glad You're not annoyed with me
because I often pray.
Some days are kinda tough,

You know some nights get pretty long.
But knowing that You care for me...
sure gives my heart a song.

It's great You're not too busy, Lord,
to hear the words I say.

I'm glad I need not stand in line
...
and wait to pray.
And so I'll say good night for now
and then when I get up
I'll get in touch with You again

so You can fill my cup.

The author is unknown, but...
quoted by Shelby E. Mai-Kalani Huff
who, approximately 3-1/2 years later,
survived a bone marrow transplant and subsequent cancer
and is now living a healthy happy "normal" life
trusting in the care of her Heavenly Father
from fathomed depths unknown to most.

Where does my help come from?

Photo-art credit goes to a friend who sees nature
as God's second book...all to His credit.

It is nothing for God to set
a rainbow or two across your sky;
and the rainbow itself...
now that is something, oh my!

Those who see the invisible
(...are you lifting up your eyes?)
can do the impossible.
To God be the glory of this sight.

The greater works of God are yours
to do, not by your might
but by the Rainbow Maker's. Source
His power, not your fright.

Your word I have treasured in my heart,
that I may not sin against you.
-Psalm 119:11 NASB

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.

-Psalm 119:105 KJV

It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
-Jesus via Matthew 4:4 KJV

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
-Jesus via John 14:26 KJV

And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God.
-Romans 12:2 NKJV

Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

All the Works of God are Redemptive

Jesus’ Heart

When heart is dark

and heavy, set

in tangles of

its sunken nets,

when tears and grinding

teeth are spent

and eyes though seeing

are glimmerless...

will Jesus save you

where you went?

You went, or taken

with consent,

the future distant,

foresightless,

your conscience slipshod

misdirected,

and now you’re smitten

...with regret.

Can Jesus save you

where you went?

Forgive yourself

for where you went.

The circumstance,

though seen not best,

is just the thing

He circumvents

to lead you into

His own breast

where You can hear

His heart’s intent...

and know He saves you

where you went.

When a young girl, an intense passion for music was awakened within my soul. Father brought great joy into my life by presenting me with a beautiful organ. It would thrill me to the very fibre of my being, as the days slipped by, to be able to draw forth such wonderful harmony from my beloved instrument.

I used to sit at the organ in the early morning hours, just as the birds began to awaken, and through the open windows listen to their sweet little bird notes as they mingled with the melody of the organ, like a paean of praise to our Creator!

Then, one morning, quite suddenly, and at a time when I was preparing with girlish enthusiasm for my first concert appearance, one of the notes became faulty. How the discordant sound grated upon my sensitive ear. Father, sensing my grief, said: "Never mind, daughter, I will have the tuner come." Long hours the tuner worked on that faulty note before it again rang out all sweet and true with the others. And the concert was a success, because the tuner was successful! -author unknown

Birds - February 14, 2010

Can you find the birds?

They were so quiet and plentiful;

they looked like leaves which the wind picked up

and moved from one resting place to another in a sudden gust.

Quietly so quietly

the small birds flutter by

and blend right in with background

turned upon a time...

Young lives are like that, flighting,

jumps and starts, some sky,

yet closest staying to background

as if it a watchful eye.

Up! Those with wings of Spirit!

Go with the Wind as high

as breath of Life will take you

above the lowland's light...

(There is a light to darkness,

seen differently at times;

but in the heavens, shined by Grace

soar those whose background...died.

A background, raw, gives comfort less

than when seemed perfect. Light

is dim under bandages.

But unbound a bird takes flight...)

Take flight!...make visible your Hope

to young lives, and old alike.

The Wind blows here, and over there

fluttering hearts and minds.

Young lives are giving treasures, rare

though plentiful, and quiet...

a card, hand-drawn, a smile, a prance...

rare fleeting chance to lift them higher.

Help Us, God

Help us, God,
to breath Your air,
to know when
someone's there,
to care, O God,
to share
Your gifts
like You were there,
to lift
a chin
to see Your sun,
Your Son to see
and watch with
prayer,
to rest,
to wait
with silence
with You there
til every thing
appears in season
clear and fair
and we are with You
there,
teach us to pray,
our Father dear
Who art in heav'n...
here
and there.
Amen

4th of July Relived...

Wild Rose

If the Son shall set you free,

you shall be...

God's creation would be

beautiful beyond measure,

if He Himself was not.

He is, therefore, we worship Him

and admire the splendor

of His imagination spoken.

What good is there to keep

darkness at the heart's center,

hard where He is not.

Like buds in the morning, sunlit,

to Him may we answer,

may we unfold and deeply open...

...free indeed.

Sweet Fragrant Aroma

But thanks be to God,
who always leads us in His triumph in Christ,
and manifests through us the
sweet aroma
of the knowledge of Him in every place.
For we are a fragrance of Christ to God
among those who are being saved
and among those who are perishing;
2 Corinthians 2:14,15 NASB

The love of God is expressed
on the merits of His own nature,
by what He has done;
apart from our vain efforts to impress
or to earn His favor.

Be thankful in His love
freely given.
Be led in His triumph
by obedience.

...a fragrance of Christ to God!

This way His love is recognized
through you by others in distress,
who will receive Him as you did,
drawn by knowledge wafting high
and low, where Jesus went.

The breath of rest by grace to savor
wonder knows as peace and truth—
In every place, the Savior's scent!
Forgive, as you were.
Give, as you were given to.

Are Two Loaves Acceptable?

He fed five thousand with five loaves
and two fish. Can He use these two loaves of bread?
No fish. Yet, these were made with love,
and earthly things—Ah, so are hungry men.

Finish The Course

Like an old painted fender
rusting in the obscure woods
we may lay crumpled with none
in the end who knows how we stood.
Time passes...
Then one who is younger finds,
and peers at the cracked lines, tender
toward the paint's sunned color,
sensing purpose and treasure there.

A Hen Named Patience

-1-
For a while, our bears must wait ...
until Patience delivers what is hoped for.
And then, before they move back into their Den,
they must wait some more;

For the children of Patience must have their time
of growing and careful learning
within the warm security of their Mother's down,
before they may scratch in the yard of yearnings.

-2-
To paraphrase a bit of wisdom,
we are well-advised
to pray with fervor
til that for which we ask has been received,

or we possess with patient vision
—without compromise
and not a murmur—
the sureness that it will be as believed

 ... in all due time.

"The thing I ask when God doth bid me pray,
Begins in that same act to come my way."

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 KJV

But if we hope for that we see not,
then do we with patience wait for it.
Romans 8:25

But let patience have her perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,
that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering,
For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea
driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:4-6

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17 KJV

Trust in the LORD, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land,
and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD:
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him;
and he shall bring it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,
and thy judgment as the noonday.
Psalm 37:3-6 KJV

And he spake a parable unto them to this end,
that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18:1 KJV

But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him;
and he will shew them his covenant.
Psalm 25:14 KJV

Confess your faults one to another,
and pray for one another,
that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availeth much.
James 5:16 KJV
